Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida visited Saudi Arabia as part of his three-day trip to the Gulf region, including the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. Kishida talked about Japanese companies’ plans to expand their projects in Saudi Arabia.
Kishida mentioned that there are currently 110 Japanese companies operating in Saudi Arabia. He expressed confidence that these companies will strengthen their presence and contribute to the Kingdom’s development.
The prime minister also highlighted Japan’s interest in working together with Saudi Arabia in the field of semiconductors, showing their commitment to technological advancements and innovation.
In terms of energy, Kishida stated that Japan is committed to investing jointly with Saudi Arabia. He also promised to support the Kingdom in obtaining clean energy using modern technology, demonstrating Japan’s dedication to sustainable development and preserving the environment.
Kishida further emphasized Japan’s keenness to make Saudi Arabia a major destination for mining investments, which will enhance economic ties between the two nations.
The prime minister’s visit aims to strengthen strategic relations with Saudi Arabia across various fields, particularly in the energy sector. Japan also seeks to deepen its ties with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.
Upon his arrival at King Abdulaziz International Airport, Kishida received a warm welcome from Deputy Emir of Makkah Prince Badr Bin Sultan and other high-ranking officials. This signifies the importance both countries place on fostering strong diplomatic connections.
Prime Minister Kishida’s visit not only highlights Japan’s commitment to expanding business partnerships but also represents a broader effort to strengthen ties with the Gulf region. By promoting collaboration in various sectors, both nations aim to create mutually beneficial opportunities and contribute to regional development.
